Welcome to The Carriage House located at 414 Walnut Street in the historic district of downtown Williamsport.

This gorgeous structure, formerly owned and operated by The Women’s Club, has a rich history of hosting events, connecting our community and celebrating special occasions. Today, The Carriage House by Chef Hosch & Ann Catering features two floors with white exposed brick and refinished hard wood floors (200 people per floor occupancy permit), oak farm tables, a fireplace on each floor, a front lawn and patio, and Ann’s multimedia artwork. When guests rent The Carriage House, rental includes use of our farmhouse tables, chairs, china, silverware and water glasses at no additional up-charge. (Guests do supply their own linens and speciality glassware.)

We encourage interested guests to schedule a site visit and meet with Chef Hosch and Danielle to configure the layout of our usable space for your event.

Snapshot

Our venue holds 400 people (up to 200 people on each floor) with two floors configured in an “L” shape, with smaller rooms also available. Beautifully renovated with gorgeous hardwood flooring, displayed antiques, artworks and more, guests may customize the space as they wish. Many of our guests like to set up music, dancing and appetizers on one floor and dinner on another for large events.

Brief History of The Carriage House

The Carriage House by Chef Hosch & Ann Catering was formerly The Woman’s Club of Williamsport. The building was once owned by Henry B. Smith, Peter Herdic, Moses Ulman and Fred. A. and Mabel I. Romich before it was purchased by a consortium of women’s clubs — including Clio, Garden and Business— in 1924 as a place for all the women’s clubs to meet in Williamsport. It was owned and operated by The Woman’s Club until 2017, when it was purchased by Richard Hoschar and Ann House, co-owners of Chef Hosch & Ann Catering. Their intention is to maintain the character of the building while bringing it up to more modern standards, keeping many of the antiques and historical artifacts on display throughout the building. These antiques are slated to be donated to the Taber Museum when they are no longer displayed.
